On Thursday 6th June, we lit our new Memorial Beacon Brazier for the first time, in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. 

Many thanks to all those involved, but especially to Bucklesham resident Mick Jackson who expertly crafted the Beacon for us. Mick gave his time and expertise for free and we are extremely grateful for this beautiful monument that can be used for any nationally significant event for generations to come.

Huge thanks also go to Castlemore Homes and their contractors for sponsoring the Beacon, ensuring there was no cost to the village. 

It was a very symbolic evening and we were proud to play our part to honor those whose sacrifice enables us all to enjoy the peace and freedoms we have today.
