Local Elections are taking place on 4th May 2023.
Bucklesham resident, Lelayla Baker, lobbied the Parish Council to ask for a Nest Swing for the Playing Field, and we are very pleased to report that it has now been installed in the Play Area.Lelayla approached the Council last year, explaining that there were no facilities for children with disabilities.
On Monday 15th August 2022, representatives from Bucklesham Parish Council met with a Community Liaison Officer from Suffolk Highways and Suffolk County Councillor Patti Mulcahy to discuss the ongoing problems in the village with regards to speed, bad parking on Levington Lane and Field View, parking at the school and the lack of passing places on Nacton Road.

Community Information Event - Bucklesham Solar Farm
Four new signs have been installed on our lanes thanks to money from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
Thanks to East Suffolk Council Community Partnership, we have two new Chat Benches on the Playing Field.
With the help of an East Suffolk Council Boost Scheme Grant, the Parish Council have provided 4 pieces of outdoor gym equipment for use by villagers and their guests.
Following the Public Consultation Meeting, Bucklesham Parish Council is now hoping to be in Wave 2 of the Quiet Lanes Project.

A note from Bucklesham Friends Group ~
...OK, so not that sort of fencing.
Ex Bucklesham School pupil, James Lobley, has been spending hours each weekend for months litter picking our lanes and paths for his bronze Duke of Edinburgh.
Bucklesham's Knitters have created a 7ft Christmas tree which stands proudly in the font in St Mary's Church.
Councillor Lenton has been busy again, putting up more signs for the Village ~ someone needs a hobby!
Today our drains have been emptied, our roads swept and our gutters cleared.
Bright and early on Friday morning your Bucklesham Parish Councillors donned their High Viz vests and started an annual clean and straighten up of the roadside signs.
Unfortunately due to copious amounts of litter being left by visitors to our Playing Field, we have had to shut the vehicle access gate.
As of 4th July 2020 the Play Area on the Playing Field will be open again.
